I’m a detail-oriented graphic designer based in Auckland, New Zealand. I’ve recently graduated from Media Design School, where I majored in Graphic Design.
Over the past three years, I have developed a love for brand and packaging design; practices in which I can obsess over finer details, like paper stock and print finishing.
I’m currently working in the marketing team at Barker’s of Geraldine, producing digital content for trade and social media, and printed material for new products. This role has given me valuable insight into the FMCG industry, teaching me about brand marketing and the intricacies of packaging design.
I recently featured in a Design Assembly article where I share my thoughts on my time at Media Design School, what I learnt along the way and my plans for the future.

‘kō’ is a conceptual platform designed to create connections within communities, acting as a facilitator for companionship. ‘kō’ connects like-minded individuals and thus creates thoughtful conversations, the sharing of ideals and shareable, poignant moments.
For many, COVID-19 lockdowns have heightened feelings of isolation and depression. The challenge was to design and develop a strategy that addresses the issue of loneliness brought about by these lockdowns.
‘kō’ helps to instil a sense of purpose among its participants and foster feelings of acceptance and belonging – fundamental human needs which help alleviate feelings of loneliness. A mobile app and a series of print collateral, such as posters and newspaper inclusions, were developed to engage the community at all levels.
The name ‘kō’ derives from Māori, which carries the meaning “to sing (of birds)”, and “to resound”. The project is branded thus to signify users calling out to one another and connecting with others outside of their comfort zone. Thematically, the project provides a refreshing experience that is an antidote to mainstream social media apps. The design tone is curated to be neutral and non-confrontational, using language that is welcoming and exudes warmth.

This was a student project completed at Media Design School.
